Lolita Sewing Plans

Hi girls, I thought I would share my sewing plans for lolita. Unfortunatly with university I do not have all the time to give to it so it will be a very slow start! My first skirt I've sewn was a regular elasticated waist skirt so I wanted my next one to be different and more skilled.

I bought two lovely fabrics on rakuten with my shopping service (probably will try tenso next time!) I want to do sweet classic and the ballerina fabric is perfect for it! The rabbit fabric I wanted to do an ott sweet look with and luckily when it arrived it is quite a small print so it will work nice for lolita.

My first project is from Otome no sewing 3 or the selection book (well worth buying you get so many more patterns and if you can't find the volumes it's worth getting the selection) I'm altering it to my size and changing the back to being shirred with a corset lacing overlay. I will be using my ballerina fabric for this one with pink fabric for the ruffles. This one is already in process but unfortunatly the fabric is quite narrow so I have had to stop and buy more fabric for the ruffles but once it has arrived all I will have to do is sew the skirt panels, gather the skirt, sew the skirt on and repeat with the ruffles.

This is my plan for the rabbit fabric with pink fur instead of white. I wont be doing the bonnet with this dress instead I will make some bendable rabbit ears with a headbow attached. This pattern is from otome no sewing 4 which has some very cute old school patterns too!

This cute pattern is from Otome no sewing 5 whch has a fairy tale theme! I've sized up this cape pattern already and I want to make a pink cape to go with my pink chocolate skirt and the rest of my (tiny) wardrobe.

Lastly this dress pattern is what I want to do sometime in the future the bib detailing is just so adorable! I don't have a fabric for it yet but I might make it out of this adorable rabbit (once again) fabric

It's from a U.K fabric shop so shall be so much more cheaper! the other fabric was £9 per metre in total and this is only £4. But that's all in the future, I have no idea when I'll get to sewing all these projects but this will keep me busy for a long time.

Hello Sweet Lolita

So in the last post, we explained why we were leaving Gyaru fashion. But not how I found myself choosing to do sweet lolita (Clairey is not doing Lolita). I'll be honest I have always loved lolita, but felt it wasn't for me I was too tall and not made for lolita. Luckily I researched lolita again and found Tall lolita blogs and so many helpful guides!

But before that me and Clairey headed to Hyper Japan with really open eyes looking for items for our new us style. Clairey bought me this lovely necklace since I love pink things and alpacas.

It's so cute! it's like an alpaca/unicorn, it has gems on it as well. I knew I wanted to do a sweet style so this was the perfect present for me thank you sis! Me and Clairey saved up a lot for the event but found we didn't spend much we just enjoyed the event more and did less shopping. I did buy a few things though I bought rilakkuma bear ears

And most importantly Otome no sewing volume 4

Otome no sewing is a lolita sewing book/mook that has many patterns (some you self draft) in so you can make your own lolita wardrobe! I bought this wanting to find some cute unusual patterns and not really for the lolita but, as I sat down with Clairey and my friend who wears Lolita Amy I looked through and fell in love with every single pattern in the whole book. it's very old school and is the autumn and winter which is my favorite season!

When me and Clairey left for the train home I still had my head buried in this book looking at all the patterns and picking out what to sew for myself. Me and Clairey were talking about how creative it is and how it combines my love of sewing as well. That when I knew I had to try lolita again and do it for myself.

This time J fashion is going to be my outlet and sanctuary. I'm going to create my own clothing and make it fit perfectly to myself and choose the fabrics I want to create my own dream. Lolita to me is a very creative capsule where you can create your own fairy tale look and have it complete. I'm going to be able to express myself and distract myself when I'm feeling burnt out or sad with the world and sew up my own creations.

Needless to say Otome no sewing 4 didn't stay alone for long...
(I'll blog more about Otome no sewing later!)

Now it's time to craft my own fairytale and have it all for myself. I might be a closet lolita at first but that's fine with me. I'm just going to sew my own dreams. If you need me I'll be at my sewing machine

Goodbye Gyaru

Hello Sweeties

Sorry we haven't been very active on social networks or our blog itself. But the truth is we have been distant ourselves.

We've really been feeling off with our fashion selves and we don't want to blame it on the fact that life has been so busy even if it has been a little.

Things just didn't feel right. We didn't have motivation and generally we were feeling quite unhappy. It wasn't fun anymore and it's quite sad to lose the love you used to have for something.

So the truth is when Hyper Japan came up (an event/con in England more focused on fashion and Japanese lifestyle as well as anime) we were planning our outfits and just didn't feel or want to wear gyaru. That was it.

And it's not slamming gyaru, we've made some amazing friends that we are sure to keep and had some great times going to meetups.

This time at Hyper Japan was quite different, we knew we love Japanese fashion, but we didn't know exactly what anymore. We chose to go more casual in style this time, which totally saved our feet and left us comfortable on one of the most hottest days of the year.

So I guess this leaves what next?

Well for Amy, she's moving onto sweet lolita a secret love of hers. She always loved and admired lolita but seem to put a ban on it herself due to her height. But with new knowledge and a sewing machine she's finally embracing it.

But for Claire, well it's going to be more of a journey. She wants to explore and find herself more in J fashion and really likes the more street style aspect. She still loves some gyaru aspects but wants to take it more her way.

So we are back to blogging with lots of exciting things to blog about. We went a bit different with our blog now featuring a beautiful alpaca by Raven, she was amazing and does really cheap commissions and should totally check her out.
